Next Steps and What to Expect

We’ll briefly talk about what you’ve been experiencing, what you’re hoping to get from therapy, and whether my approach may be a good fit for you.

We’ll also go over next steps like availability, therapy frequency, and how to move forward.

Many times people aren’t sure if what they’re struggling with is OCD, anxiety, or a different issue. That’s okay — we’ll talk through your concerns together.

First of all, it’s okay to be nervous. Whether you’ve been to therapy before or you haven’t seen a therapist for a long time, it’s normal to feel some trepidation around sharing your thoughts and feelings with a new person.

Here’s what you can expect:

I treat the first session as a getting-to-know-you session. I’ll invite you to share about yourself and your experiences, the challenges that brought you to therapy, and things that did or didn’t work well in past treatment.

We’ll also talk about your goals for therapy and decide on a good place to start our work together. I’ll also dig a little deeper into some of the things that you shared with me during our free consultation, as well as what you are currently doing that is or isn’tworking well to support your mental health.

We may also go over some assessments together to get a better understanding of some of your symptoms of OCD and anxiety.

Lastly, If I ask you something that you are not yet ready to share, that’s okay too. I go at your pace.

$160 per 55-minute session.

If you might benefit from a longer or shorter session, let’s discuss.

I’m primarily an out-of-network (OON) provider. I also accept United Healthcare commercial plans.

Many people also have out-of-network (OON) benefits through their insurance provider, which may allow for partial reimbursement for therapy appointments. If you have an FSA/HSA account, feel free to use this too.
